After being a comedy for five seasons, the sixth season of Young Sheldon turned into a drama with more serious themes. This made it one of the best TV shows of 2022. This change is more clear in season 6, which has darker topics than the previous seasons and episodes of The Big Bang Theory.
Mary, Brenda, and George I

The marriage of Mary and George in Young Sheldon season 6 is dull and expected. Mary likes Pastor Rob, but George is more daring and starts dating his friend Brenda, who just got divorced. They meet alone, away from their friends and family who might be interested.
Mary finds out their secret while Georgie’s girlfriend, Mandy, is giving birth, and she tells everyone. The show did a good job with the problem, but the story isn’t over yet. It’s not clear what will happen between George and Brenda since Mary is going to Germany with Sheldon for the summer.
As seen on The Big Bang Theory, it looks like this story will keep going until George has a heart attack. This makes me sad because I think the show could have better stories.

Young Sheldon season 6 shows that Meemaw’s secret game business is getting bigger. The store next door is empty and open for business. She wants to take it over and put in new slot machines with movies. She chooses to buy some because the seller seems sketchy. She and Dale feel like someone is watching them on the way home.
As they try to get away from someone at a restaurant, a tornado hits and damages Meemaw’s house, taking away their game money. Even worse, Pastor Jeff finds out her secret and says he won’t tell anyone. He might use this knowledge against the church when it needs money, but it’s not clear.
They broke up, but now Meemaw and Dale are back together. The shady seller says they will either call the cops or demand more money to get them to pay. Meemaw tricks him by cutting his tires and running away quickly because she is smart on the street.
Later, the gaming goes on, but their money is stolen when someone breaks in. The thief is always getting away. To help her family, Meemaw breaks the law, even though it puts her in danger. Like, she gives Georgia money to buy a ring for her engagement. She has the money to help Sheldon pay for his trip to Germany this summer, but she doesn’t offer to do so. She loves all of her grandkids the same.
Missy Cooper is becoming more grown up.
Missy had a rough season 6 of Young Sheldon. After giving birth, she thought her parents, Meemaw, and sister-in-law Mandy didn’t care about her. Missy wasn’t having fun even though she was trying to.
The last straw was when her dad forgot about her while he waited for Mandy to give birth and her mum was busy with his affair. Paige and Missy ran away because they were lonely. To get away, they planned a trip to Florida. When their families called the police to say they were lost, their trip was over.
Missy said she would be good, but this event made her worried. She began seeing Pastor Jeff’s niece while they smoked, drank and watched adult pictures. Sheldon told everyone about Missy’s secret, which made her mad. When it was time to leave Sheldon at the airport, she didn’t say anything.
Missy knew she had done wrong after the storm and promised to do better next time. As her dad watched, she broke into the house 32 times while Sheldon was in Germany. This made me think that she might still be anxious.
Mandy and Georgie Cooper have a child.
Georgie and Mandy had a big deal with Season 6 of Young Sheldon. Georgie had trouble getting used to being an adult and a dad. He had a hard time with things like putting in a car seat and taking care of a baby.
Some things went wrong in Georgie and Mandy’s relationship. Georgie and Mandy had a child together, but Mandy didn’t want to be in a relationship with him, so she told him to date other people. Georgie kept her word, but Mandy wasn’t sure how she felt about it.
Mandy said no when Georgie asked her to marry him because she was scared. Mandy changes her mind in the last episode of the season and asks Georgie to marry her while they are on vacation.
He gladly agreed. Mandy’s mother didn’t like Georgie, so she wouldn’t pay for their wedding. Her father, on the other hand, was very happy for them. At the end of the season, Georgie and Mandy helped Meemaw clean up after a storm. What happened to Georgie’s in-laws wasn’t clear.

Young Sheldon’s sixth season was the one where I think Sheldon’s behaviour changed the least. His failed database project was the only important thing that happened in his work. This showed that he didn’t care about making money. During most of the season, Sheldon wasn’t very important because other characters were going through big changes.
Even though there were funny parts, like when he tried to run a college flat, they didn’t help him grow as a person. I worry that since Sheldon is the main character, the writers might not know how to handle his growth.
He thinks that going to the University of Heidelberg will help him get better. It can be hard to write an opening when a lot of the characters are already well-known from The Big Bang Theory. This limit makes it hard to give them more depth as people, which is similar to the problems writers of other spinoff shows like Star Wars have had.
What will Season 7 of Young Sheldon bring?
The characters on Young Sheldon will go through a lot of changes in Season 7. Sheldon will be going to the University of Heidelberg and facing new mental problems.
Georgie is likely to keep changing as he gets married, has kids, and deals with his problems. Missy is likely to stay in her independent stage while she figures out who she is and how to deal with other people. That would be great if we could learn more about Meemaw’s past, dreams, and secrets. That would help us understand her better.
A big part of the show will still be how Sheldon, his family, Georgie, Mandy, Missy, and her friends get along with each other. It’s possible that George’s cheating on his wife will continue to cause fights and mental health issues in the family. There will be new problems, like Sheldon’s schoolwork, his own problems, and his relationships.
That’s for sure. Sheldon’s smart jokes and sarcasm will still make people laugh, as will Georgie’s silly behaviour and Missy’s funny actions as she pushes the limits. The show will look into the issues, feelings, and pasts of the characters. Season 7 will probably be all about the characters, showing how they change, interact with each other, and feel.
